Covid-19 Maritime Industry Update 99

In their latest Covid-19 Maritime Industry Update 99, (21 February 2022), Maritime New Zealand update the industry on an amendment to the Maritime Border Order, which sees the isolation or quarantine period for those who arrive in New Zealand on board a ship lowered from 10 days to 7 days.

The 7 days can be served aboard the ship (local Health Authority discretion applies), in isolation, or at a quarantine facility, and will be counted from the most recent of the following:

  • The time at which the ship last departed for New Zealand from a port or other place outside New Zealand

  • The time of the person’s last contact with someone not on the ship

  • The time from when a new person joins the ship.

The prior voyage may be taken into account, with certain criteria being met.
