Extension for private vessels with a TIE about to expire
New Zealand Customs has announced a blanket extension for private vessels with a Temporary Import Entry (TIE) that is due to expire.
1 July 2021 is the new date by which the TIE for private vessels will expire. Any extensions beyond this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The extension has been provided because a number of private vessels are not able to meet their agreed date of departure under the Covid-19 response.
This means that existing vessels operating under a TIE will not be required to leave New Zealand. For further information, contact Peter Dawson by email peter@maritimelaw.co.nz, or by phone +64 27 229 9624.
