Guidance for the Transport Sector on Sanctioned Ships and Aircraft

The New Zealand Government has imposed a range of sanctions in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.  These sanctions came into force on 18 March 2022 and include the restriction of some ships and aircraft from entering New Zealand.

The government agencies who worked in collaboration on the sanctions have released a guidance to explain what ships and aircraft are restricted from entering New Zealand, what areas they’re restricted from, and how these sanctions will be enforced.  Details of who to contact if restricted ships or aircraft attempt to enter an area that impacts you are also included.
