Coastguard Nelson new boat launched

Coastguard Nelson have just launched their new Naiad rescue vessel built by Aimex in Nelson.

The vessel will undergo a series of sea trials and tests before being formally commissioned in February.  

The new rescue vessel is a purpose-built heavy weather vessel and will be based at Port Nelson.  As before, it will cover the Nelson, Tasman and Golden Bay area.
