Covid-19 Maritime Industry Update 57

 

In their latest Covid-19 Maritime Industry Update 57, Maritime New Zealand update the industry on issues relating to our maritime border.

Of interest:

  • Shipping NZ members are tasked with ensuring changes relating to crew welfare can take place under strict criteria that protects New Zealanders and the crew from contracting Covid.

  • Foreign vessels wishing to apply for an exemption to our closed maritime border have until 5pm on 4 December to do so, for this to be considered prior to Christmas.

  • Guidance on required Covid testing is set out in an amended Testing Order.

  • Maritime New Zealand is looking into the PPE use at Ports.  There has been industry engagement on this.
